VOICE of Service Users
We have received an appeal from Scunthorpe & District Mind service user group VOICE.
Their members have noticed a decrease in involvement opportunities for people with mental health issues being offered by the NHS so they are asking if any groups have any projects that would benefit from user involvement to please get it touch with them. They can be contacted on 01724 279500 or http://www.sdmind.co.uk/VOICE_of_Service_users.html
VOICE is a group for anyone with experience of mental health services to talk about related issues. Its members get involved in a wide range of mental health-driven projects to help improve the services offered in the local community. In the past this has included training and recruitment, monitoring of existing services, and even the design and development of the Great Oaks Mental Health Unit.
By joining VOICE you could meet people who share similar experiences, people are encouraged to contribute ideas to improving mental health services, to learn new skills and involvement and participation contributes towards building confidence.
VOICE meetings are every Tuesday from 10:30am to 12:30pm at the peer support centre. For more information call 01724 279500
