Take the Friends & Family Test for Stroke Services Urgent Care
North Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group is working in partnership with local organisations including GP practices, Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Trust and the Stroke Association, to help NHS England pilot the Friends and Family Test (FFT) for the stroke services pathway.
The Friends and Family Test has been introduced to the NHS as a way to assess how well services are performing and to do this we are asking the following question:
“How likely are you to recommend our stroke services to a friend or family member if they needed similar care or treatment?”
The stroke services pathway is the journey taken through different parts of the health service by a stroke patient on the road to recovery and the transfer between the different parts of the service:
- Ambulance Service
- Accident & Emergency
- Ward or Specialist Unit
- Primary Care (GP surgery support)
- Rehabilitation (Speech & language / physiotherapy / occupational health)
- Social Care
As part of the pilot, we are asking stroke survivors to complete two surveys if they have experienced any part if the pathway. This could be after discharge from the Stroke Unit or at their GP’s surgery.
