Relocation of Park & Ride service for Scunthorpe Hospital
Patients and visitors are reminded that the Park and Ride service for Scunthorpe hospital is relocating from April 1.
The service currently runs from Glanford Park but is moving to the Parishes multi-storey car park in the town centre, which is managed by North Lincolnshire Council.
The new location will allow the Trust to use the No.9 Hornsby-operated bus service between the town centre and the hospital. Existing benefits will remain, with free use of the car park and the bus for staff and a 50p each-way charge for patients and visitors. Buses will run every 20 minutes from 7am to 7pm, with a final bus leaving the hospital at 8pm. The journey will take approximately 10 minutes in each direction.
Further details are now available for people wanting to use the new service.
Parking is on the top two floors of the car park and is free. Patients and visitors will need to go to the Shopmobility office on the ground floor to register their vehicle. Staff members will need to display a permit.
Penalty charge notices will be given to any members of the public whose vehicles are not registered with the Shopmobility office and any staff who are not displaying a permit.
Disabled visitors can park for free anywhere in the car park, all they need to do is display their blue badge. They do not need to register with the office.
The site offers Park Mark safety accreditation, CCTV and security patrols.
The Shopmobility office is open from 8.30am to 2pm. After this time there is no need for people to register their vehicles as parking is free to all users.
