LGBT Health and Care Workshop in Scunthorpe
NHS North Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) wants to make sure that health and care services in North Lincolnshire are meeting the needs of our lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.
The CCG are working in partnership with a range of LGBT organisations, including Stonewall, the national LGBT charity and campaign group, as well as local LGBT people, to ensure that they make more informed decisions about the health and care services needed by LGBT people both now and in the future.
The CCG would like to invite anyone who is from, or works with, the LGBT community to a Health and Care Workshop to share their feedback on what they can do to improve health and care services for LGBT people:
Wednesday 15th October from 6:30pm until 8:30pm at Café Indie, High St, Scunthorpe.
The workshop will be led by the CCG and other partner organisations, as well as a colleague from Stonewall.
Dr James Mbugua, the CCG’s Clinical Lead for Equality and Diversity, explains: ‘We want health and care services in North Lincolnshire to be inclusive and equipped to meet the needs of all sectors of our population. To make sure this is the case for our LGBT community, we would like to know their views about what they think their particular health needs are, their experiences of using current NHS health and care services in our area and what they think needs to be done to improve these services to meet their needs in the future. I urge as many local LGBT people as possible to come along to this workshop to share their views so that we can make the right commissioning decisions for them.’
