Trust Chair steps down
The Chair of Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust has stepped down after three years in the role.
Anne Shaw was appointed in September 2016 following three years as a Non-Executive Director with the Trust.
A nurse by background, Anne is from the East Riding of Yorkshire. Before joining the Trust she worked at the Open University, teaching within the health and social care department, was a secondary school governor, and held a number of directorships.
Anne said: “It has been a huge privilege to serve as the Trust Chair and, before that, as a Non-Executive Director. I have seen many changes in my six years with the Trust and I think it is in a better position to improve now than it has been at any time during my tenure. That’s thanks to the hard work of the Trust’s fantastic team of dedicated and passionate people who strive to provide great care and services.”
Anne says she is looking forward to spending more time with her family and concentrating on her business. She added: “I would like to thank my Trust Board colleagues and Trust governors, both the current ones and those who have been involved in the past, for their unstinting efforts and support to improve the Trust’s services.
Chief Executive Peter Reading said: “On behalf of the Trust I would like to thank Anne for her hard work over the last six years. She has always been passionate about providing high quality services for our patients, dedicated to driving forward improvements and provided leadership at board level. Anne has developed good working relationships with our partners and has really championed the Trust’s charity fundraisers and volunteers. I wish her the very best for the future.”
Linda Jackson, Deputy Chair, will take over as Interim Chair until a substantive appointment is made. Linda is originally from Cleethorpes and was appointed as a Non-Executive Director in 2014 and Deputy Chair in 2017. Linda moved to London as a 20 year old and had an extraordinary career in facilities management where she worked her way up from trainee manager to board director at ISS Facility Services over a 28 year period.
Linda said: “It has been a real pleasure to work alongside Anne during the last three years during what has been a challenging time for the Trust. She has worked very hard to help the Trust move forward on its improvement journey. I am looking forward to working with the Trust Board as Interim Chair as we continue to improve our services for our local communities.”
