Nominate your midwife for a special award
Women who have given birth at Scunthorpe, Grimsby or Goole hospitals are being asked to give a special thank you to their midwife by nominating them for an award.
Staff in maternity services at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLaG) are celebrating International Day of the Midwife on Friday May 4.
They’re hosting a tea party in celebration of midwives working for the Trust where staff will share their experiences and the reasons they love working in the profession. It will also be a double celebration as it’s also the year that the NHS turns 70 years old, so the tea party will be an NHS “seven-tea” themed party.
On the day, the winners of the NLaG Outstanding Midwife 2018 award will also be announced.
Women who have given birth in the last year, or their partners, are asked to nominate a midwife who went the extra mile to provide outstanding care.
Anyone wanting to nominate their midwife can do so online here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/M3P8QFN
Gemma Logan-McRae, clinical skills and patient safety midwife, came up with the idea for the award. She said: “We are incredibly proud of the wonderful work our midwives do in caring for women and their families during such a life changing experience. We’re looking for new parents to help us show our appreciation for their passion and dedication by saying a special thank-you by nominating them for this award.”
Nominations will close at 12 noon on May 3 with the winners announced on May 4.
