(updated 24.03.2020 at 14:20)

On 23.03.2020 the UK Government announced that where possible, we MUST now all stay at home.

The only exceptions to this include:

  • Leaving your house to collect essential items such as food and medical supplies
  • Essential travel to work (if you are classified as a key worker)
  • If you need to care for somebody who is vulnerable
  • To go outside to exercise. This must be limited to once per day

If you leave the house at any point, you must adhere to the guidelines on social distancing, which include not meeting up in groups of more than 2 people (excluding household members), and keeping a safe distance from one another (2 meters).

Always make sure you wash your hands with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds once you return.

All non-essential stores will now be closing, and all gatherings of more than 2 people in public should not take place.

You should also not be visiting other peoples homes unless necessary.

Whilst these rules may seem harsh, it is hoped that these measures will prevent the spreading of the virus and relieve pressure from the NHS -enabling staff and resources to be used more effectively to treat those who need it.
