Mike has worked in health and social care sector for over 40 years. During his time in local government he managed a wide range of services and progressed from a trainee social worker to Head of Service in children’s services. He has also worked in housing services, adult social care, the voluntary sector and the private sector.
He currently works as an independent consultant and trainer, specialising in helping public and voluntary organisations develop outcome-orientated practices in their work. He has undertaken research on this subject and has published works in the UK and elsewhere. He is also a consultant researcher at the Centre for Child and Family Research, Loughborough University.
Mike sees his contribution to Healthwatch as a natural extension of his long-standing commitment to helping people to focus their collective efforts on helping service users to achieve better outcomes.
